The National Institute of Open schooling (NIOS) started by the initiative of Bro. Mani Mekkunel in the year 2003  with the aim of providing secondary and higher secondary education for the school dropouts and those who could not complete their 10^th or 12^th Standard. The NIOS coaching center is fully equipped with a digitalized classroom which is held in the mornings hours, and also has an experienced faculty for teaching the various subjects.
